Eye Surgery with Dr. Durboraw

Dr. Durboraw commonly addresses problems of the eyelids with surgery, from excess eyelid skin and drooping eyelids to malpositions of the eyelids. Skin cancer of the eyelids and surrounding area can become a complex reconstructive undertaking and there is no one more qualified than Dr. Durboraw in the surrounding region.

Ptosis is a condition where the eyelid margin has descended and is obscuring the pupil of your eye and your peripheral vision. People often describe their eyes as looking “half mast” when they are trying to fully open their eyes. Sometimes this is combined with excess eyelid skin which can be addressed simultaneously. If your peripheral vision is significantly obstructed, your insurance company will pay for the surgical repair of this condition. Make an appointment for evaluation.

Aging of the lower lids can often make patients feel they appear tired or “drawn”. Usually the problem involves a combination of excess eyelid skin and bulging fat pockets of the lower lid which accentuate the tear trough and exacerbate the appearance of dark circles. Although this is not considered medically necessary and will not be covered by your insurance, these problems can often be corrected through surgery. Make an appointment for evaluation.

Face Lift by Dr. Brian Windle

Rhytidectomy or more commonly known as a face lift, is a surgical procedure used to rejuvenate and improve the appearance of the face

The best candidates for this procedure are men and women whose face and neck have begun to sag but who still have some elasticity and whose bone structure is strong and well-defined. A face lift can make you look younger and may enhance your self-confidence.

he vast majority of men and women do not experience any of these complications. You need to discuss these issues with Dr. Windle prior to your surgery to be sure you completely understand the basic risks along with any other special risks that may be involved.

At your initial consultation, Dr. Windle will evaluate your general health, examine your face, condition of your skin, your underlying bone structure, and explain the procedure to you along with the risks of the procedure. In addition, your doctor will give you different options based on your particular situation. After meeting with Dr. Windle, he will tell you what he thinks is a realistic expectation for your situation. Photographs will be taken and possible alterations can be made on the computer screen to give you an idea of what changes you can expect to see as a result of your facelift.

The recovery period following a face lift will consist of some numbness, swelling, and bruising in the face. Your drainage tubes will be removed 2-3 days after surgery when your drainage has slowed down. You will need to keep your head elevated for a couple of weeks. You will have some scars from your facelift but the majority will be hidden in your hair and the rest will be placed in the natural creases of your face and ears. In time, they will fade and be scarcely visible.

You are in experienced hands. Prior to moving to Seattle WA, Dr. Windle spent 10 years at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland where he gained extensive experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery and was Chief of Plastic Surgery. He then spent 6 years in private practice where he was acclaimed as one of the country’s top physicians before relocating to Seattle Washington.

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures, breast augmentation can produce a more desirable breast size and shape with a natural-looking appearance. Inflatable implants are inserted beneath each breast during the surgery. The type, size, and shape of the implant as well as the location of the initial incisions will be determined during your initial consultation. Although a number of different implant options are available at the present time, the implant that is used nearly universally is made of a silicone rubber shell, filled with a saline (salt-water) solution. The two options for implant shape are anatomical and round. The anatomical implant is narrower and taller, and projects further away from the body. Round implants are wider and less projecting.

Breast augmentation is a “same-day” procedure and generally takes 1 1/2 – 2 1/2 hours. Generally, our patients return to work within a few days. Physical contact with the breasts can occur 3-4 weeks after the procedure. Complete healing of the scars will depend upon the individual.

Tummy Tuck In Michigan

Although the results of a tummy tuck are technically permanent, the positive outcome can be greatly diminished by significant fluctuations in your weight. For this reason, individuals who are planning substantial weight loss or women who may be considering future pregnancies may be advised to postpone a tummy tuck. Also, a tummy tuck cannot correct stretch marks, although these may be removed or somewhat improved if they are located on the areas of excess skin that will be excised, generally those treated areas below the belly button.

The success and safety of your tummy tuck procedure depends very much on your complete candidness during your consultation. You’ll be asked a number of questions about your health, desires and lifestyle. The decision to have tummy tuck surgery is extremely personal and you’ll have to decide if the benefits will achieve your goals and if the risks and potential complications are acceptable.

Your plastic surgeon and/or staff will explain in detail the risks associated with surgery. You will be asked to sign consent forms to ensure that you fully understand the procedure you will undergo and any risks or potential complications. If your abdominoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis, be sure to arrange for someone to drive you to and from surgery and to stay with you for at least the first night following surgery.
When choosing a plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck, remember that the
surgeon’s experience and your comfort with him or her are just as important as the final cost of the surgery.

What to expect when having a face lift

A face lift procedure will generally take several hours, although all surgeons will perform the procedure in his/her own way. The incisions will begin at the temples above the hairline, continue down in front of the ear, and continue behind the ear lobe and extend to the lower scalp. If the neck is part of the procedure, a small incision will be made under the chin.

Pain and discomfort may be a part of the recovery, but can be minimized through use of pain medication. It is normal for the skin to be numb for a few weeks to a month after the operation. Elevating your head and keeping it still for a few days after the procedure will help minimize swelling. The drain tube and bandages will generally be removed in one to five days, depending on recovery progress, and stitches will be removed after five days.

After the removal of the bandages, your face may still appear bruised and puffy; however, you will look normal within a few weeks. The scalp may take longer to heal, although most patients are back to work within about ten days of the surgery. After the third week after the procedure, you will look and feel much better.

While a face lift cannot stop or even slow down the aging process, it can set back the clock by cosmetically altering and adjusting the placement of the skin on your face and neck, as well as removing excess fat and tightening the muscles underneath the skin. If a face lift is performed, it may be accompanied by a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, nose reshaping, or other procedures.

Breast augmentation for women over thirty is quite popular. During the thirties, some women may notice stretching of the skin surrounding the breasts. Women in their thirties may notice breast droopiness. They may also notice other breast changes following pregnancy, weight gain or weight loss. The breast-to-under the breast ratio and breast-to-waist ratio becomes more important as well. As the first signs of age appear on the breasts, thirty something women may become more concerned about limiting the effects of aging on the breasts. The thirty something time frame tends to be one when women are also more dedicated to physical fitness and diet. So, why not consider breast augmentation to complement body contours?
